About Johan
My name is Johan Igheimer, and I am the owner of Appelkullen, Långsbo Mantorp and the countryside properties connected to our business.
I was born and raised in the nearby village Rimforsa, only a short distance from Appelkullen, and my connection to this area has always been a big part of my life. Today I live close to Rimforsa together with my wife Therese and our dog , Benji.
Outside of the countryside business, I also run an IT company in Linköping together with a fantastic team. But nature, forests and rural life have always remained close to my heart.
Appelkullen was purchased in 2004, originally because of my strong interest in forestry and land management. At the time, the property included old buildings in poor condition, but over the years the house was carefully renovated and transformed into the countryside home it is today.The house itself dates back to around 1850 and carries a long local history. One well-known former resident, Anna, lived at Appelkullen until the 1990s and became more than 100 years old.
As the years passed, our passion for countryside living continued to grow. In 2014, we expanded with another nearby property — today known as Långsbo Mantorp — offering guests a different countryside experience with close access to both nature and nearby services.
Together with additional surrounding forest properties, our goal is to preserve the peaceful and authentic environment that makes this part of southern Sweden so special.
The area around our houses offers what many guests are searching for — quiet forests, wildlife, lakes and space to truly relax. During spring and summer, cows often graze close to the fields, and nearby Lake Drögen offers opportunities for swimming, fishing and peaceful evenings by the water.
Our goal is simple:
To offer a genuine countryside experience where guests can slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the peaceful side of Sweden.
